We have a mission – we support artisans in South Africa where we can have a positive effect on the rate of unemployment. Every purchase of a product from Thumbprint Artifacts impacts these artisan’s lives by helping them to support their family and build self-respect. We feel there is no better way to understand the contribution you make, than to provide an opportunity to visit the artisans at work in their own country. So we put together a programme called ‘Taste of the Cape’. The tour, March 14 – 22, 2019, is a unique journey that promises to be one of discovery, enlightenment, and most importantly – enjoyment!
I live in Stellenbosch, very near Cape Town, South Africa, so this bespoke trip comes from local knowledge! The itinerary includes travel in and around Cape Town, Table Mountain, Cape Point, a visit to Langa Township, through the Overberg country side to the ocean view at Arniston, and ending the tour in Stellenbosch, the heart of the Cape Winelands. During the 8-day adventure, our small group will visits three of the artisans that we support. You will have the chance to see the workshops and meet the artisans.
And the excursion is planned during late summer in the Cape, but winter in the States, so there will also be time to relax and enjoy the South African sunshine and beaches!
